sitez

sitez

A static site generator, and a Vite plugin with no options, read at sitez.amitkaps.com. Markz goes in text/, and every page builds to complete HTML. The docs say what it promises, how to use it and how it's built.

A site adds Sitez to its vite.config.js and runs Vite+'s commands.

// vite.config.js
import sitez from "@amitkaps/sitez/vite";

export default { plugins: [sitez()] };
{
  "scripts": { "dev": "vp dev", "build": "vp build", "preview": "vp preview" },
  "devDependencies": { "@amitkaps/sitez": "0.4.0", "vite-plus": "^1.1.0" }
}

Sitez needs Node 26 or newer, the Node it's built and tested on. Usage has the rest.

Read AGENTS.md before changing the code. pnpm check and pnpm test must pass.

Folders

  • docs/

    The writing that spans Sitez's files, in reading order. Each code file's own reasoning is in its @prose block.

  • src/

    Sitez itself: a Vite plugin, and the stages a site goes through on its way to dist/. Each stage gets a file here, or a folder once it needs more than one, as its step in plan.md starts.

  • tests/

    Sitez's tests that build whole sites. Each source file's unit tests sit beside it in src/.

Docs

  • AGENTS.md

    How to work in Sitez: what to read first, the rules the project holds, the standard and prose rules every repository shares, and how this one applies them.

  • CLAUDE.md

Code

  • vite.config.ts

    The same toolchain a site runs Sitez with: one vite-plus config drives format, lint, test and the package build. pack bundles the plugin with tsdown. Reading the repo as prose is a separate tool, @amitkaps/prose: run pnpm prose.

  • wrangler.toml

    Cloudflare builds this repository's own site from main: the repository read with prose. It serves it as a Worker with static assets, which are only the pages prose build writes.
